Receives Award from Cuyahoga County Public Library for
Infrastructure Upgrade
Number One Library System in the Country Hires Emergent
OnLine to Upgrade Network and Access Infrastructure
Reston, VA. –
April 12, 2005 – Emergent OnLine today announced
that it was selected by the Cuyahoga County Public
Library to perform a complete upgrade and consolidation
for the library’s network and access infrastructure. The
library operates 28 branches serving 47 communities
around the greater Cleveland, Ohio area, and has been
recognized by the Public Library Association as the
busiest and best library system in the United States,
and scored a perfect 100 on the HAPLR Index, solidifying
its position as the number one library system in the
nation.
The implementation involves the migration of the
library’s existing Citrix (Citrix Systems, Inc., NASDAQ:
CTXS) servers to MetaFame Presentation Server 3 FR3,
running on Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Server 2003,
upgrading from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 and Active
Directory, and consolidating the entire data center into
a virtualized environment using VMware ESX server.
