Citrix® Thin-Client Computing
Windows® CE Among
Platforms Protected by V-ONE's SmartGate® VPN Using Strong
Authentication, Exportable Encryption And Digital Certificate

V-ONE Corporation (Nasdaq: VONE), a market leader in
client/server Virtual Private Networks (VPN), today announced
the extension of its SmartGate VPN product to support Citrix
Systems, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: CTXS) MetaFrame™ and WINFRAM®
server-based computing software. Citrix is recognized as a
market leader in server-based computing software (over 15
million clients and 350,000 servers deployed) which gives
organizations the flexibility and independence to rapidly
access the latest enterprise applications. SmartGate offers
the industry’s only VPN solution for Windows CE, a platform
supported by Citrix MetaFrame and Independent Computing
Architecture (ICA). This complements the security features in
Citrix, giving users a higher level of data security available
for sensitive business applications even if the device is
connected through wireless (or wireline) media via Windows CE.
Using SmartGate, Citrix users identify
themselves to the network through both mutual and two-factor
authentication. Entry of a single access code by the user is
all that is required to turn conventional Citrix application
access into SmartGate VPN-secured application access. The
fine-grained access control of SmartGate tightly manages which
applications each user can utilize via Citrix MetaFrame or
WINFRAM, while the entire session is protected by "export
anywhere" Triple DES (Digital Encryption Standard) encryption.
V-ONE’s patented On-Line Registration offers the industry’s
fastest and easiest client deployment in addition to
SmartGate’s support for digital certificates such as Entrust®
PKI software from Entrust Technologies (Nasdaq: ENTU.)
