Emergent Pioneers the
Video Service Provider Segment
Leading Application Service Provider and Platinum Citrix
Solutions Consultant Delivers Streaming Video Services Online
Reston, VA - March 1st,
2000
Emergent OnLine, the leading Application Service Provider and
the number one Platinum Citrix (Citrix Systems, Inc., Nasdaq:
CTXS) consulting integrator in the nation’s capital announced
today the worldwide launch of the Video Service Provider
industry segment.
"This is a monumental event in the creation of a new industry
segment," said Paul Ghostine, co-founder and CEO of Emergent.
"Clients of all sizes are now able to access and view
centrally hosted streaming video content without the ‘download
and run’ limitations of current technologies."
Today’s typical distributed enterprise with field offices
scattered around the world would require massive investments
in infrastructure, local storage and bandwidth to deliver
online corporate training presentations, computer based
training videos, and field maintenance and support training
multimedia content. Media players and desktop incompatibility
issues complicate matters further.
Emergent OnLine, the first Video Service Provider enables
organizations, large and small, to "play streaming video
content" from a secure, dedicated and hosted computing
infrastructure. Clients are provided the highest quality
experience over any type of connection including 28.8 Kbps
dial-up links to receive high clarity, true color, and full
motion video.
"The value proposition is simple," continued Paul Ghostine.
"As with our growing ASP business, clients are no longer
required to build gigantic internal infrastructures, form
larger expert IT staffs, and deliver increasing bandwidth to
remote offices. Rather, clients utilize our ASP services as a
conduit to hosted corporate presentations and training
videos."
Peter Ghostine, co-founder and CTO of Emergent said:
"High-quality audio and full-motion video had been unthinkable
over low bandwidth connections. Delivering today to our
clients streaming multimedia content from a data center is a
reality. We have developed our own proprietary custom portal
interfaces and indexing schemes to offer real-time
subscription services for access to what we potentially
foresee as an expansion beyond the corporate marketplace."
According to Dataquest, the ASP opportunity will rapidly reach
$22 Billion by 2003. EOL believes that the Video Service
Provider segment we just pioneered will rapidly grow to rival
the size of the ASP segment.
